  • For threading fiber through the orifice on your spinning wheel.
  • This is designed as a tool that you will bend to work best with
    your spinning wheel.  
  • The groove in the handle measures yarn or thread wraps per
    inch (WPI).  
  • Use WPI to estimate knitting or crochet gauge, suggest needle
    or hook size and estimate yards per pound.
  • WPI is especially useful for comparing two yarns such as when
    you want to use a different yarn than called for in a pattern.
  • WPI Gauge Instructions with handy chart are included.
  • Handle is polished solid brass and the hook wire is 14G Solid
    Sterling Silver.  The wire is not plated or filled base metal.
  • This tool is 5 3/4 inch long overall, plus ribbon.

Use the WPI gauge by wrapping your yarn around the handle in the
channel.  Wrap firmly but without stretching, keeping the wraps close
together.  When the channel is full of yarn, count the number of wraps
and multiply by 2.  Now you have determined the WPI of your yarn or
